At the beginning of his immense career, Handel was interested in opera: at the age of 20 in 1705 he saw his first two operas performed in Hamburg. During his stay in Italy, where he went in 1707 for three years, he deepened his knowledge of Italian opera and composed his first great sacred works, among them the oratorios Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno and La Resurrezione. But it was in London that Haendel deployed his talents to establish Italian opera, in 1711 with Rinaldo, then in the Royal Academy of Music with Giulio Cesare among others and in 1733 the magic Orlando. The bubbly and unavoidable Camille Poul offers us a journey through all these major works of the famous composer, where her charm, her virtuosity and her dramatic sense will incarnate with force these terrestrial and celestial loves.
