This exhibition marks the opening to the public of the final premises of the Town Planning and Architecture Forum within the "109" complex, and it opens this new page with a singular project.
Guy Rottier, a famous stranger - By taking an interest in the figure of the Nice architect Guy Rottier (1922-2013), a multiform creator with a romantic career (Dutch East Indies at the foot of the Mercantour), this exhibition is reminiscent of how Nice is a territory of invention and daring in architecture.
After half a century of life in Nice and its region, he remains a unique figure in "arTchitecture" and "urbaNiceme" - two terms he invented. He is however a lesser-known figure elsewhere in France and abroad, where his character as a free architect with new ideas (he was the only architect member of the School of Nice) is widely welcomed. In fact, this exhibition aims to "re-anchor" Guy Rottier in his city of choice and heart, to show how much he has fed on Nice, and how much he has nourished it as well.
