Founded in 1881, today the Observatoire de Nice is one of the 4 geographical sites of the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, a public Earth and Space sciences research centre. Located at Mont Gros to the east of the city of Nice, the site combines exceptional historic heritage with contemporary research infrastructure.
Built by Charles Garnier, it is home to Europe's largest mobile dome, designed by Gustave Eiffel.
Tours of this exceptional site are open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year and Fridays during school holidays (French school holiday zone B) at 2:45pm. Registration required: www.oca.eu Guided Tours section.

Tours for groups, schools and adults are available throughout the week and year at the following rates:
Adults: €90 per group of 25 visitors
School groups: €55 per class of 30 pupils
