The Musée Masséna is celebrating its Centenary by joining forces with the 20th anniversary of the Cercle Brea to honour 50 years of Goudji's enchantment for the artist's 80th birthday!
His art is innovative; a sculptor by training, he only wants to create unique pieces without ever using processes that allow for the edition or reproduction of the work in identical form. A goldsmith above all, he combines the technique of brasswork with the inlaying of hard stones in metal and works only with precious metals. He began by creating jewellery, fibulae and torques. Later, Goudji created large imaginary objects: canthars, rhytons, pyxides, mythical characters, fabulous animals, deer, zebus, born of his dreams. Under the fingers of the goldsmith, the Christian bestiary is revisited by the Caucasian East.
In 1976, he was asked to create and produce the sword of Félicien Marceau's academician. Since then, Goudji has created a large number of jewels and several hundred objects in gold, silver and hard stones, as well as fourteen academician swords, including those of Hélène Carrère d'Encausse, Gilbert Dagron, Raymond Barre and Maurice Allais.
